background

Fürstenhäusle Meersburg

Hidden between vines, the Fürstenhäusle lies on a hill above the old town of Meersburg. The jewel built around 1600, was for many years the creative retreat of the poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff. Even today, the Biedermeier furniture and the audio and media stations give a lively insight into their lives and social environment.

Description

With a breathtaking view, the garden and terrace invite the visitor to linger: from there, the view sweeps over the Meersburg upper town with the baroque residence of the prince-bishops to Lake Constance and up to the peaks of the Alpine chain. Annette von Droste-Hülshoff already enthused about this: "The view is almost too beautiful, d. H. to enliven me, what the near and boundless, as far as the view is concerned, "the famous poet wrote enthusiastically to her friend Elise Rüdiger.
